Marina has 5+ years’ experience as a lawyer and is qualified as both an English solicitor and as a lawyer in Greece. Marina worked in the financial services regulatory London team at international law firm DLA Piper for 5 years, where she advised credit institutions, investment managers, payment services firms, market infrastructure providers and technology companies on a broad range of regulatory perimeter and compliance issues. She holds a Masters degree in International Business Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Marina has advised clients on innovative projects in the Fintech space involving tokenisation, digital assets and smart contracts. Experience includes providing regulatory and structuring advice in the context of various token offerings, advising on market infrastructure projects for digital securities and providing input on associated legislative reform initiatives. She has also been involved in the FCA sandbox in the context of two different projects. She was recognised as a recommended lawyer for Fintech in the Legal500 2024 London Guide.
Marina is passionate about the application of technology in the legal sector and how this can deliver more efficient outcomes for clients. She has worked on developing sophisticated automated solutions for business transactions for CodedLaw (the firm’s legal technology services affiliate entity). Marina will oversee the legal and advisory function to provide a seamless operation of underlying document management and workflow systems compliant with the UK regulatory framework and procedures.
